1. Acceptance of Terms: Preventnuclearwar.org, including all site-related content and services, are provided by Back from the Brink (BftB). By using this site, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions set forth here. We may update or modify the Terms of Use without advance notice.
2. About Back from the Brink: BftB is a coalition of individuals, organizations, and elected officials that is fiscally-sponsored by the non-profit organization Physicians for Social Responsibility-Los Angeles (PSR-LA). BftB brings communities together to advocate for nuclear disarmament and common sense policies that reduce the threat of nuclear war.
3. Registering for email communications: We invite all users to sign up to receive email communications from BftB. However, all content and services BftB offers are available to all users, regardless of whether they sign up to receive our newsletter, emails or alerts. From time to time we also may invite users to participate in polls, respond to surveys, or otherwise interact with the website. Whether or not you are registered for our newsletter, we may require you to provide your email address and/or city, state or zip code to participate in these features. These features may be governed by specific rules, which we will post for your review. By signing up for a particular feature, you become subject to the rules governing that feature. Again, all users can access all of the website’s content regardless of their participation in polls, surveys, or other features.
4. Intellectual Property and Links: All content posted on this website, including blogs and other content authored by individuals who are not members, contractors or employees of BftB, is the property of BftB and is protected by United States copyright laws. Users of preventnuclearwar.org agree to respect BftB’s copyright and agree not to use any materials obtained from this site without prominently crediting Back from the Brink, as the source of the material. Any reproduction or distribution, except for personal, informational use, is a violation of our copyright. Any resale of this information or use for commercial gain is prohibited, except in accordance with a licensing agreement with us. If you are uncertain whether a work is owned by BftB, please contact us at info@preventnuclearwar.org.
BftB provides links to other websites and resources as a convenience. BftB does not own the content found at those links and has no control over those sites and resources. The inclusion or appearance of these links on our site does not indicate our approval or endorsement, and we hereby disclaim any and all liability that may arise from this third-party content. In addition, BftB has the right, but not the obligation to block links from or to our site at any time.

6. Back from the Brink text messaging network: There is no fee required by the Back from the Brink to receive text messages. Message and data rates may apply; this can be checked with your mobile service provider. Charges are billed and payable to your mobile service provider or deducted from your prepaid account. Consent is not a requirement for purchase.
Data obtained from you in connection with this SMS service may include your mobile phone number, your carrier’s name, and any information you provide to use through messages sent back to the BftB shortcode including the date, time, and content of your messages. We may use this information to contact you and provide the services you request from us. Alerts sent via SMS may not be delivered if the mobile phone is not in range of a transmission site, or if sufficient network capacity is not available at a particular time. Even within a coverage area, factors beyond the control of the wireless operator may interfere with message delivery, including the customer’s equipment, terrain, proximity to buildings, foliage, and weather. Wireless operators do not guarantee message delivery and will not be held liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Back from the Brink and PSR-LA are not liable for any delays in the receipt of any SMS message as delivery is subject to effective transmission from your network operator.
By subscribing to Back from the Brink’s mobile alerts, the user consents to receive recurring automated text messages to receive information regarding the Back from the Brink campaign and its goal of a world free of nuclear weapons.

7. Disclaimers: BftB’s website is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory. You agree that you must evaluate and bear all risks associated with the use of the site, and any reliance on the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness thereof. To the fullest extent permissible under applicable law, BftB disclaims all warranties. Our website may include inadvertent inaccuracies or errors. Additionally, the possibility exists that a third party could make unauthorized alterations to our website, content or services. Although we attempt to ensure the integrity of our website, we make no guarantees as to its completeness or correctness. Termination: You agree that BftB, in its sole discretion, may terminate your use of our website or any part thereof, at any time and for any reason, including if BftB believes that you have violated or acted inconsistently with the spirit of the Terms of Use. Further, you agree that BftB and PSR-LA will not be liable to you or any third party for any termination of your access to our website.

Limitation of Liability: Neither BftB, PSR-LA, nor any of our affiliates, directors, officers, employees or consultants are responsible or liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, punitive or other damages under any contract, negligence, strict liability or other theory arising out of or relating in any way to this website and/or materials contained on the site, any linked site or any content or service available through the site. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the site, content, services or any linked site is to stop your use of it.
