In the early 1980’s at the height of the Cold War, Western Massachusetts helped birth the Nuclear Weapons Freeze movement, a powerful grassroots campaign that played a major role in advancing the cause of nuclear arms control and disarmament — and preventing nuclear war. Today, the threat of nuclear war is as real as it has ever been and again Western Massachusetts has birthed a new national grassroots campaign, Back from the Brink: Bringing Communities Together to Abolish Nuclear Weapons, campaigning to reduce nuclear dangers and abolish all nuclear weapons.
To help achieve these goals and build real political power, Back from the Brink needs to raise significant funds and scale up its efforts. Can we count on you?
Join us on Sunday, December 4th to celebrate the campaign’s accomplishments, learn about the campaign’s plans for 2023 and how you can get involved, and help honor four Western Massachusetts leaders who have played a major role in advancing the campaign and the cause of nuclear disarmament.
