Back from the Brink is proud to announce that Bloomington, Indiana and Hallowell, Maine recently adopted resolutions in support of our five common sense policy solutions to prevent nuclear war.

Hallowell’s resolution was adopted on July 11 and Bloomington’s resolution was adopted on September 1. Both municipalities also declared their support for the U.N. Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons.

The Bloomington resolution also states that “In addition, the City will endeavor to ensure that no City contract shall include companies involved in the design or manufacture of nuclear weapons or the delivery systems of nuclear weapons, unless no alternative company is available to perform needed services at a reasonable price, and insofar as state law allows.”
