On August 13th 2019, national environmental organization the Sierra Club endorsed the Back from the Brink Campaign. They join over 260 other environmental, faith, peace, health and academic organizations in urging the federal government to take meaningful and necessary actions to prevent nuclear war.
In their own words, “the Sierra Club is the most enduring and influential grassroots environmental organization in the United States. We amplify the power of our 3.5+ million members and supporters to defend everyone’s right to a healthy world.”
To date, Back from the Brink resolutions have been passed in 33 cities and towns including Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Salt Lake City, and recently Tucson, as well as in the states of California, Oregon, New Jersey and Maine.
