James Height Jr., representing the PEAC Institute, Students for Nuclear Disarmament, and the Back from the Brink campaign, made history in Manhattan by becoming the first documented rapper to ever perform at a global disarmament meeting.
At an event hosted by Bloomington Peace Action Coalition, BftB’s Dr. Ira Helfand emphasized the urgent threat of nuclear war and the power of collective action.
Fresno peace groups, including BftB Fresno, held a powerful “die-in” and protest to spotlight rising nuclear threats. Speakers condemned U.S. militarism, urged support for the Nuclear Ban Treaty, and called for disarmament to move humanity back from the nuclear brink.
Tufts University Nuclear Activists hosted BftB’s Dr. Ira Helfand, who highlighted nuclear war as the greatest public health threat. Helfand stressed that while nuclear war is possible and devastating, it’s preventable. Students spoke to the impact of Helfand’s speech.
