BftB’s Dr. Ira Helfand says President Donald Trump should address the issue of Pakistan’s nuclear capabilities soon because of the country’s back-and-forth conflict with India, which could escalate into a nuclear conflict.
James Height Jr., representing the PEAC Institute, Students for Nuclear Disarmament, and the Back from the Brink campaign, made history in Manhattan by becoming the first documented rapper to ever perform at a global disarmament meeting.
At an event hosted by Bloomington Peace Action Coalition, BftB’s Dr. Ira Helfand emphasized the urgent threat of nuclear war and the power of collective action.
Fresno peace groups, including BftB Fresno, held a powerful “die-in” and protest to spotlight rising nuclear threats. Speakers condemned U.S. militarism, urged support for the Nuclear Ban Treaty, and called for disarmament to move humanity back from the nuclear brink.
